Description
The Polygon Premier 20 kids bike is the perfect tool to help children aged 5 to 8 develop riding skills and foster a love for cycling and exploration. At this age, children’s minds are absorbing all the inputs from the world around them; there’s a lot to take in, so their step up to gears, dual hand brakes, and bigger wheels shouldn’t be overbearing. That’s why Polygon designed the Premier 20 to be one of the lightest in its category and curated kids-specific components with a focus on simplicity, safety, and control.
The frame is made of ultralight 6061 Aluminum tubing. It features confidence-inspiring geometry where the low center of gravity and 69-degree head angle provides the ideal balance of low-speed agility and high-speed stability for when their confidence grows. The Premier 20 utilizes an ultralight, rigid fork instead of a hefty suspension fork, reducing the weight by 4 pounds and makes it a lot easier to ride and live with. The ultralight quest continues with an aluminum handlebar, stem, crankset, hubs, and rims, components all too often weighed down by cheaper steel. The seat post and saddle is a superlight one-piece construction featuring, yet again, an aluminum post integrated into the kid’s specific saddle, which is the ideal size and shape for this age range.
For their first experience of gears, your child will find the Shimano Tourney 7-speed RevoShift intuitively simple to use. Working like the throttle on a motorbike to change gears, they can select the gear they need, assisted by the clearly visible Optical Gear Display, which aids communication between parent and rider when recommending the ideal gear for a particular hill.
The Polygon Premier bike comes spec’d with Kenda 1.75 inch tires, a ultralight and fast-rolling all-terrain design that performs well on dirt roads and moderate trails through the hard pavement. The Premier can keep up with your child as they progress. The frame and fork are ready for even larger tires letting a more adventurous rider explore rougher trails with even more comfort and control. Increasing the tire width to a max of 2.1 inches makes this a bike competent off-roader.
All that confidence will see your child getting up to speed quickly, so Polygon ensured safety and control with reliable v-brakes paired with Promax kids-specific alloy brake levers. These levers have a very short reach, optimized for little fingers, and can be further adjusted toward the grips with a 2mm Allen key for children at the lower end of the age range. Paired with the alloy rims with CNC machined braking track, your child will be able to stop on a dime.
The Polygon Premier’s incredibly ultralight design combined with a balanced riding position, stable handling, fast-rolling tires, intuitive wide-range gearing, and powerful alloy kids brakes make this a bike your child will remember well into adulthood.
If you are looking for a bike to get your budding cyclist hooked on two wheels, the Polygon Premier is the right choice.
